Success Stories: RICARDO PALMA UNIVERSITY PERU

WI-FI ON CAMPUS
Description

Ricardo Palma University (URP) has a large campus that requires internet connection at various points to meet the need of students, faculties, staff and visitors. Netkrom therefore implemented in the URP wireless system consists of 50 radio equipment located in strategic areas of the campus, designed to provide high-speed wireless connectivity to users with laptops. For optimum performance of this solution has a basic network topology and system BUS centralized Hotspot, which allows you to monitor the number of connected users and control access to them.

Project Description

To meet the need of the University Ricardo Palma to have wireless access for high-density traffic, Netkrom Technologies has implemented the project "Acquisition of equipment and implementation of a wireless coverage system for the University Ricardo Palma", which includes the study, installation, configuration, and operation of the system in question with a high quality of equipment and a high performance service.

The implemented system consists of 20 radio equipment in the first stage and 35 radio equipment in a second stage, which has managed to cover the entire campus with wireless access to high transmission rates. In addition the design of the distribution of radio equipment has been specially developed according to client characteristics.

Additionally we have implemented a computer controller providing Hotspot service, which controls the access of students, teachers and visitors through a database resident in a Radius server. This control is implemented through registering a username and password to each end user.

Benefits:
  • Provide wireless coverage in all university facilities for the benefit of students, teachers and visitors.
  • Have Internet access controlled by a Centralized Hotspot.
  • Maintain uninterrupted connectivity to mobile users, while moving within the coverage area of the campus.
  • Allow the connectivity of the high-speed wireless network to end users.
