Project Description

To achieve the project’s objective, a wireless platform was implemented in the 2.4GHz band with the ISP-CPE500. having this four hydroelectric centrals interconnected. By being all interconnected, this will allow anyone in those four centrals monitor and control all the sensor level cameras and machines that work with PLC.

All this is under an authentication system of encrypted data and access lists that make the wireless network to be under security measures that only allow users on the network with the correct authorizations to access it.

Benefits:

 NETWORKING
  • Interconnected Administrative Offices: The administrative personnel of CAHUA S.A can share information between each other and access a database on their servers avoiding the redundancy of files, programs, and peripherals.
 WIRELESS NETWORKING (WLAN)
  • High Performance Wireless Platform: The platform is able to give wireless connectivity to every LAN on the hydroelectric central with a high level of security (Encryption and LAN segmentation) assigning a specific bandwidth to the network.
 SERVICES
  • Data, Voice, and Video over TCP/IP: The hydroelectric centrals are able to provide services in the range of data, VoIP and video, eliminating communication limitations and sharing data between computers.
 FUTURE BENEFITS
  • Superior Upgradable technology for Peru: The Wireless Base Station has capabilities to be upgraded to WiMax technologies or swappable with other frequencies not yet licensed.

  • Video Surveillance: Video network security integration in a wireless platform. This will provide monitoring system that will be accessible remotely from another hydroelectric station.
