Metropolitan Backbone Network• Client / Company: EMAPE S.A. • Country: Peru • Website: http://www.emape.gob.pe • Solution: Use Wireless technology equipment for superior administration of VoIP and regular data traffic. EMAPE S.A, has a versatile wireless platform that allows interconnections from four different administrative remote locations to provide Internet and high speed VoIP. This is how the remote locations (Emape Monterrico, Emape Caquetá, Emape Chillón) maintain a continuous uninterrupted connection that allows applications to run in real time along with the internal intranet system of the company. The wireless platform is based on the NETKROM MB-ROMBv2 equipment. These devices are robust and perform in rigorous hot, windy, and humid climates using licensed or non-licensed frequencies from 900MHz to 6.1MHz. The platform used is under the non-licensed frequency of 5GHz to make it possible to be deployed in a fast and simple solution. This is so if any interference is detected, then with the click of one button the interference problem could be solved by just changing the channel on the interactive administration tools section of the equipments setup page. |

Project Description |
---|
The non-licensed 5GHZ frequency ISM standard was implemented into the platform of three interconnected EMAPE offices located in Monterrico, Caquetá, and Chillón.
Each office location was configured based upon the Layer three OSI model and with this configuration it would receive the benefits and advantages of a segmented network:
The wireless system used would also allow the distribution of Internet from a single point. In this case the single point would be Monterrico, it would distribute the Internet to the other remote locations in Caquetá and Chillón. This would offer save costs that would go towards the ISP and give the network a more centralized structure that would aid in the administration and maintenance of the connections and remote locations. The MB-ROMBv2 device manages to work with many important services such as: RIP, DHCP, NAT, QoS, and WPA2 security. |
